Boarding Sunday 17:00 – Friday 16:00.  No weekend accommodation. Learners must be signed in and out by an authorised person.  No learner is allowed to leave the premises after he/she has signed in.  Learners who return on Monday must report to the teacher on duty before 7:00 after luggage has been placed in their room.

VEHICLES

Pupils may not keep vehicles at the hostel or in town.  They may not drive themselves or transport other pupils – this applies to motorcycles as well.  Complete co-operation of parents is requested in this regard.  Severe steps will be taken against transgressors who endanger their own life and the lives of others.

In exceptional circumstances permission from the principal can be requested to waive the rule.

PERMISSION TO MEET PARENTS

Parents may visit their children at any time provided that it does not interfere with study times or bed time.

Within reason, parents may sign their children out and take them off the premises with the teacher on duty’s permission, provided that it does not interfere with study times or bed time.   Guests may only visit boarders with the teacher on duty’s permission. Guests are not allowed in the bedrooms; visits are only permitted in the foyer of the hostel or in the circle in front of the hostel.

ILLNESS

A pupil who is ill must report to the teacher on duty, who, depending on the circumstances, will decide on the appropriate course of action. Parents will be advised in the event of complications, hospitalisation or an accident.

ILLNESS AT HOME

Parents must advise the hostel mother or father if the pupil will not return at the stipulated time after a holiday or weekend at home due to illness.  Please do not bring an ill learner to hostel.

VISIT TO TOWN

Learner will not be allowed to go to town during the week due to the safety situation in the area and the fact that they go home every weekend. In exceptional circumstances, with a written request and permission from parents, the hostel mother or father or teacher on duty will give permission to individual learners.  Learners leave the school premises at their own risk.

PERMISSION TO ATTEND PRIVATE PARTIES OR GATHERINGS OUTSIDE OF HOSTEL AND THE SCHOOL PREMISES

Permission will not be given except for team dinners or gatherings for team building as arranged by the school and the respective educators.

No learner is allowed to belong to a sport club outside the school eg. Gym, Judo, dancing, etc.

No learner will be allowed to sleep over at a friend during the week regardless of whether a parent has given permission.

PERSONAL BELONGINGS

The school accepts no responsibility for any form of loss, eg. money which goes missing or cellphones that are stolen, etc.

CELLPHONES

Cellphones must be switched off during study.

MAINTENANCE

Boarders will be held responsible for any damage caused to hostel property. It will be subtracted from the breakage deposit which must subsequently be supplemented annually.

LAUNDRY

There is no laundry facility.

Clothes must be clearly marked.

OFF-PREMISES BOARDING

Pupils may not leave the hostel during the year to board elsewhere without handwritten notification from the parents to the hostel mother or father.

NOTE:  NO REFUNDS WILL BE MADE IN SUCH AN EVENT.

PUPIL APPEARANCE

Casual wear is permissible but pupils are expected to be neat and tidy at all times.

CO-OPERATION

In order to provide effective supervision of your children, your complete co-operation is essential.  The rules are there to protect your child.  It is expected that he/she will abide  by them, as undertaken in the application, and that all requests will be carried out conscientiously.
